Alumni Day on Sunday 9 March 2025

We proudly present our next Alumni Day on March 9th, 2025, which will be held in collaboration with the counselling department of the University of San Diego (USD).

The topic of the day will be ‘Group Counselling’. On this day you will have the opportunity to attend lectures of two professors of the USD, as well as lectures by some of our own teachers. Also, you will be able to meet students of the USD and connect with other alumni of the ACC.

In March 2025, two counselling professors of the USD, Saudra Tabet, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Chair, and Lily Vistica, M.A., Director of Clinical Training and Applied Instructor in Marriage and Family Therapy, will visit the Netherlands, together with 15 of their students. They are very keen to learn more about counselling in the Netherlands and have approached the ACC for a collaboration in this regard. As the ACC, we gladly embrace this opportunity to join forces, and we think it is a great idea for our alumni to learn more about counselling abroad and to get inspired by two international university professors in the field of counselling.

All ACC graduate students and students that will graduate soon, both Dutch and international, have the opportunity to attend this event.

The Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of San Diego is a training programme designed to prepare students with the skills needed to provide professional counselling services to diverse populations. The programme emphasises developing counsellors with strong ethical principles for practice in global contexts. Some courses include international components, encouraging students to explore counselling through a cultural lens. In particular, USD’s Group Counseling: Theory & Practice course, held in March of 2025, introduces 15 USD students to group dynamics and group work in both the Netherlands and France.

The goal of the ACC Alumni Day is for our students to learn more about group counselling and about counselling in the USA. Therefore, the lectures that will be held both by the USD professors and by our own teacher(s) will be themed around group counselling. The day will be concluded with a meet and greet.
